This document is a guideline for researchers on how to conduct respectful and beneficial research in American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities. These guidelines cover a variety of topics, including recognizing AI/AN as sovereign nations, how to perform ethical research, understanding AI/AN health disparities, how to navigate the research process, what documentation is needed to perform research, and where to search for additional resources. The Guidelines for Researchers is part of a series that the University of Arizona NACP Outreach has created and are available through our office or online on the NACP website: uacc.nacp.outreach.
